The short rib is amazing, catfish is perfectly made, fried chicken was very good. Mac& cheese side was excellent. Very nice & thankful owner. I love far but will definitely be returning.

I have been going to Jameson's for at least 15 years now. I spent a lot of time down south and you won't find better Southern cooking in the area. Yes, there are a few other places doing soul-style cooking at the shore but Jameson's was the original and still my favorite. You can't beat the fried chicken wing dinner with two sides and a corn muffin. Homemade peach cobbler, sweet potato pie and various slices of cakes are too good not to end your meal with. Watch out on Sunday's because the post church folks make this their first stop before going home.

Great southern food, fried chicken and fried whitening fish are highly recommend, food are delicious! Would recommend!

The food is delicious! Friendly atmosphere and service. I especially enjoyed the smothered Turkey wings, fried chicken, ribs, potato salad and collard greens.

Enjoyed the meatloaf, gravy, and mac and cheese. Apparently you go to the counter and order, which we gathered by the girl's attitude when we sat down at the tables. There were dead bugs on the windowsill. Needs some cleaning, like wipe down the tables and chairs, clean the windowsills. Chairs were greasy, had to ask her to wipe them down. Better off calling ahead and getting takeout, but we don't live nearby.

Canned green beans and yams(that should say enough) the backed chicken has no flavor! Not soul food more like cafeteria food. Used to be good back in the day. The restaurant service has always been friendly but the food fell off!

Very attentive staff, food was delicious. We got fried catfish, meatloaf, collards greens, black eyed peas and rice. Food was quick, hot and tasty. Definitely worth the trip to check it out!

I always enjoy the great food at Jameson's Southern Cooking in Neptune, NJ. It's not a chain, it's real home cooking. Don't skip the dessert either, because they're fantastic! Stop in and meet Mr. Jameson, and tell him Rick from BPA told you so.

My son takes guitar lessons at Guitar Center. My wife and I were looking at Google maps for a restaurant close by that wasn't something we could find in our town (Howell). Jameson's was one. It is a small restaurant, but that is what makes it great. It isn't a chain. My wife had the combo - chicken breast with ribs and sides of mac and cheese and mashed potatoes.It does take a while for the food but I guess nothing is pre-prepared. I got the catfish with rice and gravy and potatoes salad. I had never had catfish before, not even when in New Orleans. I didn't think I would like it. It was great and was served with lemon and tartar as well as hot sauce.Cornbread is also served with each meal.There is no ambiance at all, paper cups for the bottled drinks, but service, family atmosphere and taste makes it perfect and is.Price was about $40. We think it was well worth it.My wife and I will definitely return.

I just wasted 23 dollars

Stopped there for lunch on a Friday afternoon. Was helped by a very nice woman behind the counter. I asked what she recommended, as far as sandwiches go, and she guided me to the whiting. While I waited, she gave me a bottled water, for no charge. The whiting was very fresh, and the sandwich was delicious. I would definitely return.

Awesome fried catfish platter. Came with cornbread, plus black eyed peas and collared greens. Highly recommended. They had sweet potato pie which looked great, but will have to try on my next trip.

Been there twice this week both times good was amazing and the owner is real good people! Sure I'll be back this week again. Hard to find good should food when I'm on the road all the time. Definitely some of the best I've had!

Good dinner meal

The pork chops are out of this world. They are the best the wife and I ever had, thanks Bob my LZ Hope Brother. Everything was great and prices are average, yet the food is fabulous. Worth every penny. No one can ever complain about anything. If so they are not playing with a Full Deck ! AMEN

Fair for the price. Had an MSG hangover the next day after having the ribs. Sides were good. Homemade sodas were uneventful.

I was expecting some real homemade cornbread and some good old fashioned southern rice with beans and gravy. Instead, the rice wasn't properly cooked and gravy had no taste. The cornbread was a corn muffin. I was disappointed. The fried fish, french fries, mac and cheese were ok.

Been there before never did really care for the food gave him another chance, I was very disappointed. I asked for smothered pork chops when I got home it was not smothered. Candy yams was from a can they were not fresh I had my share of Jameson's good luck. He is a good guy but no thank you. The food was not good at all I don't think he knows what southern cooking really is.

Very disappointed! Worst soul food me and my boyfriend EVER HAD, food had no flavor or seasoning. Would not recommend this to anyone.

Delicious Southern cooking at this small roadside restaurant. There are many flavorful dinner, sandwich, sides and dessert choices from which to choose, all reasonably priced. Since most dishes are made to order, I would suggest calling ahead if you’re ordering take-out. There are several tables provided for dining-in and the large wall mounted television is always on, with something interesting to watch. This is a clean restaurant and rest room as well. Mr. Jameson (the owner), a proud decorated Marine, is a kind and friendly man and usually there to greet and briefly chat with customers. I truly enjoy ordering food from here.

I visited Jameson’s while I was on a work trip. The locals recommended it. I was blown away. The food is amazing and the staff is nice. If you’re looking for true soul food this is the place. It’s also nice to support a family business!

40.00 and disappointed ordered a Whiting platter and fried chicken with Mac and Cheese, string beans and potatoes salad. I took one bite of each and my oh my greatly diaapponte. The string beans are canned. The fish was oily...like really oily. Yuck...no flavor. Just oil.I have never had potatoe salad that taste this bad. Sighs...next time I'm packing a salad.

I can't even begin to explain how great the food is at Jameson's.Everything on the menu is top notch.The owner Robert Jameson is so nice and every time I go there, I tell him how much I love the food.I usually have a difficult time deciding what to order because everything on the menu is delicious. There is a reason he's been doing this for close to 30 years. Go to Jameson's. Eat in or take out. Finish your meal with sweet potato pie, banana pudding or another dessert. You won't be disappointed.

Fish was not fresh but frozen.

I have had Jameson's in the past and I had a pleasant experience. However, this last visit, was mediocre. The chicken tasted old and the portions were ridiculously small. Hopefully since my last visit they have improved. The flavor of the sides were good though. I had collard greens, macaroni and cheese and sweet potatoes.

I went their for the first time and the food was well seasoned. Very tasty. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. I loved the experience! I'm coming back!

Hands down the best ribs I've ever had. The food was amazing, and the sweet potato pie was delicious. Aside from taste, the service was great and they couldnt have been any nicer.
